July 2026 Newsletter - 2 new songs and book is in the mail ;)

Lots to recap, so here we go…

My book has been “finished” since December. Title is: Life Lines - The Wellspring of Stories, Paintings and Songs by Serina Jung. When authors told me that writing the book would be the easy part, I thought, “how hard can it be to get a book printed and out into the world? I’ve put out 3 albums, it can’t be that difficult.” Well, my friends, it seems the Forces of Obstacle and Delay have been haunting me since December. I am awaiting my “final” proof copy as of the writing of this newsletter. If all goes well, you’ll be able to order your copy by month’s end.  And I was able to navigate a way around 'Capital-A-rainforest's' 60% cut. Yes, that’s what they usually take from authors. Anyway, a separate announcement coming soon, with details on where to purchase it, depending where your live on this beautiful globe.

The audio-book is titled: Life LInes - Reflections of Id. It contains just the stories and a few poems, along with a sparse soundtrack. Obviously, no artwork is featured. For now, it will only be available through my website at www.serinajung.com. There won’t be an e-book version.

In the meantime, Benjamin Douglas’ book, Don’t Miss The Buss, had me in stitches with stories from the road. He’s a friend of mine; musician, artist, author, a fearless adventurer and astute observer of life and people. Please check him out.

After 16 years hiatus from performing live, I’m on stages again, alongside many talented singer-songwriters in Vermont. I’ll be hosting a few songwriting workshop/day retreats this summer too so, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they result in collaborations and concerts. I’ll post pics to my instagram @serene.oasis_

New songs… besides the 14 (of 18) lyrics of as-yet unrecorded songs included in my upcoming book, this week, I released 2 new songs on YouTube. They are: Twiggs On Main Street and All I Need Is You. Raw video, just me and my guitars, in my practice room/home studio. I like bare-bones production and hope you do too.

Who am I listening to? Among others, Sarah Jarosz, Melody Gardot, Flip Turn and a lot of Tiny Desk concerts by NPR which features a seemingly endless cache of new music and talent in one place.

I hope life is treating you well and that each of your days offer laughter, sensitive moments and  the sound of great music. I’ll reach out again soon. Please feel free to share this newsletter with someone who you think might enjoy my music.

Happy summer!

~ Serina
