In the "other" studio
In the flow of color
When I was a young child, a teacher told me I couldn't draw and to stick to singing, which apparently I did a lot, in and out of class. I'd always had a burning desire to create on canvas but that old belief stood in the way. Many years later, a stroke of defiance inspired me to buy a heap of supplies and to paint for fun, for my eyes only. While it's true I'm not good at drawing, I fall in love with the creations that evolve before my eyes, using tissue paper, sand, moss and acrylic. Soon friends started asking me for prints, and a new chapter began.
When words don't come, I pick up a brush or palette knife to express what I feel. When the canvas stays blank and cannot be translated from words, I turn to my guitar or piano and a pen.
